Roberto Tarenzi has performed and recorded since the mid 90's, having the chance to play with many jazz greats such as David Liebman, Max Roach, Bobby Watson, Bob Brookmeyer, David Murray, Eddie Daniels, David Raksin, Franco Cerri, Enrico Rava, Franco Ambrosetti. During the following years, Tarenzi has been playing and recording in a variety of situations, in Europe as well as in New York City, where he relocated in 2006. Finalist in the prestigious “2006 Thelonious Monk International Piano Competition”, Tarenzi played in Washington DC in front of a jury led by piano icon Herbie Hancock. Upon moving to Rome in 2008, Tarenzi started a very intense collaboration with Stefano DiBattista and Rosario Giuliani, led his own trio with Dario Deidda (Kurt Rosenwinkel's bass player) and Roberto Pistolesi as well as working with Roberto Gatto, Maurizio Giammarco, Dario Deidda, Fabio Zeppetella, Fabrizio Bosso, Max Ionata, Gino Paoli, touring all over Europe, United States, Japan.
